Frequently Asked Questions
If a person has no insurance, SWIC can cover. $20 like in past years?
Yes- For Fluvirin the trivalent flu vaccine. The Quad- Flulaval is more expensive so we could not use the voucher for Quad.
Will your people know right then and there if insurance does not cover?
In general, most insurances cover the flu vaccine fully under Preventive Benefits. If it is an insurance we are not aware of or the person is not sure of his coverage, the person should call their member services number on their card and ask. The person is ultimately the responsible party that is to be aware of what their insurance coverage is. There is a Financial Responsibility clause on our Consent Form that if for some reason any portion of the claim is not paid they will be financially responsible. They sign that clause.
No out of pocket expense, correct?
There should be no out of pocket expense if the person has health insurance- the Physician group we work with are in-network with most insurances in PA. But again, if they have an insurance we are not aware of or a special plan that we don’t know they may have some out of pocket expense. They should know their benefits before they get the shot.
What about Privacy?
