Thanks to all who attended our 2019 Health Care Update at the Rivers Club in Downtown Pittsburgh this month. Erin Hart presented updates about the Western Pennsylvania health care industry. Attendees discussed insurance product network changes, the new Medicare Open Enrollment Period (January 1 – March 31), and how to navigate plan options.
We invited Janice Meinert from the Pennsylvania Health Law Project to present the various Medicaid waiver programs available in Pennsylvania. Several waiver programs are now being handled by Community Health Choices. Individuals interested in applying for waiver programs should contact the independent enrollment broker, Maximus, to apply for benefits. Their number is 877-550-4227.
